ArtStart: Book Reading by Edward S. Louis Sunday, March 31, 2019, 2:00 – 4:00 pm ArtStart, 68 S Stevens St, Rhinelander Wiskalo Chookalo follows Hank Peck, a WWI veteran looking for work during the Great Depression. He makes an unfortunate choice when he hops off the train just outside a small, Northern Wisconsin town and lands in the midst of a ghost story. He decides to stay and bring the haunting to an end. It is a story of suffering, friendship, courage, compassion, forgiveness and self-sacrifice. Not all heroes achieve their quests on battlefields: spiritual power may win out where physical skills alone cannot. Edward S Louis is the pen name for E. L. Risden, professor of English at St Norbert College, DePere. He has over 20 books including scholarship, fiction, poetry, translation and a textbook.
